PRIVATE LESSONS: Class schedule not suit your needs?
Whether you have some experience, or are starting fresh, private lessons can be very beneficial. Each lesson is tailored to your needs, interests and skill level. In general, private lessons are scheduled Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm, however, we can occasionally accommodate an evening lesson. One week’s notice, preferably more, is required to schedule all private lessons. Individual adult private lessons for one person are $50. for 75 minutes of hands on, in-depth instruction ($40. per person for 2-4 people). We do offer packages of private lessons that come along with the same benefits as a 6 week class session – please call to inquire.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES: Please call, or e-mail, so we can confirm there is still space in the class of your choice. 608-255-9240 / firstname.lastname@example.org
-A non-refundable $50. deposit is required to hold your place in a class. Once you have ensured availability and spoken with staff, you can pay the deposit, or full fee, in 1 of 2 ways:
– Stop by the studio during staffed hours (Tues-Sat, 10am-5pm). In person, we are happy to accept cash, check or credit/debit. **We apologize, but MCP is currently not able to process credit or debit transactions by phone, though we are happy to do so at the studio.
– Send a check. Please make checks payable to Midwest Clay Project and mail to 2040 Winnebago St., Madison, WI 53704. Remember – Call first to check availability in your class of choice!
-The class fee balance is due at the beginning of the first class session. Class fees are non-refundable once the first class session has met.
FAQ’s Does my class fee include clay, glaze and firing fees? Yes – your class fee includes up to 10lbs. / 15 lbs. of finished fired work (6wk session = 10lbs, 8wk session=15lbs). This means that you may use as much clay as you like each time you come in to work and then you decide what you would like to keep and fire.
Can you give me a general idea of what “ten pounds of pottery” might look like? We have found many beginning students in a wheel 1 class do not exceed ten pounds in six weeks. Ten pounds is about 8-12 pieces of finished, glazed pottery from a beginning class.
May I make more than 10lbs. /15lbs. of work? Yes, of course – work above and beyond the amount included in your class fee can be fired based on MCP’s standard per pound material/firing fee, which is currently $2.50/lb.
May I work in the studio outside of class? Yes – during the six weeks you are registered for a class at MCP, you have access Tuesday-Saturday during regular studio hours. We also offer evening studio hours, which vary with each session, so please check with staff for our current schedule. This schedule is not posted anywhere on line – you must get it from your instructor.
