Winter 2014 Adult Classes!

As always, class registration includes access to a replenished bin of stoneware clay, 10lbs. of fired work & access to a generous schedule of open studio hours. 

To Register you have 2 options:

1.  Stop by MCP during regular business hours (Tues-Sat 10am-5).  In person, we can accept checks, cash or credit cards. ($50 deposit, or full class fee required to hold you place.)

2.  If you can’t make it in, give us a call to get signed up.  As soon as we receive a check in the mail, we can guarantee your place in class. ($50 deposit or full class fee.)

Wheel 1 & 2 w/ Nicky Ross

uesdays 6:30-9pm / January 21-February 25 / FEE: $239.
Learn the basics of making small cups and bowls on the potter’s wheel. This class is designed with the beginning student in mind, but can also serve as a comprehensive refresher for those with a bit of experience. An excellent introduction to our studio!  Students will begin with a lump of clay and end with glazed, fired pottery.  No experience required.

Building with Thrown Parts w/ Allison Craver
Thursdays 10am-12pm / January 23 – February 27 / FEE: $209

Intended for those with intermediate to advanced wheel experience, this class will introduce students to a variety of building techniques using thrown parts and pieces.  If you’ve ever wondered how to make a square or oval pot, this is the class for you!  The possibilities are endless – you will never see a thrown cylinder the same way again.  Allison, MCP’s studio manager, will demonstrate extensively, provide resources and give feedback.
Please note: This class is 30 minutes shorter than our other adult classes.

Exploring Handbuilding w/ Jennifer Lapham
Thursdays 6:30-9pm / January 23 – February 27 / FEE: $239.

Learn a variety of fun handbuilding techniques for making both functional and sculptural forms.  This is an excellent class for people new to the studio as well as those interested in building on previous experience. Lapham, Midwest Clay Project’s Founder and Directer, greatly enjoys stepping in to teach this class whenever she can.

Saturdays 9-11am /January 25 – March 1 / Fee: $209.
