Adult Classes, Early Spring 2013
Please note: There will be no classes during the week of MMSD and UW Spring Break, March 25-29.
We will maintain our regular open studio schedule. 

All adult classes also include access to a generous schedule of non-instructional open studio hours, access to studio clay and 10lbs. of fired work.

Tuesday 6:30-9:00pm – Wheel 1&2 w/ Nicky Ross
3/5 – 4/16 (skip 3/26)
Perfect for first-timer, or a great refresher for those with a bit of experience, this class covers basic wheel throwing techniques.  Students learn the process of making pottery on the wheel from start to finish, including glazing.  (No clay experience necessary.)
Fee: $225.

Wednesday 10am-12pm – Teapots!  Wheel 2&3 w/ Allison Craver
3/6 – 4/17 (skip 3/27)
Learn how to make teapots with MCP’s studio manager, Allison.  As a group we will research historic pots & explore the possibilities!  Instruction will focus on formal decisions including different handle and spout construction techniques.  Though an advanced class, it is open to level 2 students who will benefit from the demonstrations, but may choose to focus on jar forms.  This class will utilize the potter’s wheel.
(Moderate/advanced clay skills suggested.)
Fee: $200.

Wednesday 6:30-9:00pm  – Wheel 1&2 w/ Marisa Hricovsky
3/6 – 4/17 (skip 3/27)

Thursday 6:30-9:00pm  – Handbuilding w/ Wheel-thrown Parts w/ Allison Craver and Ryan Myers
3/7 – 4/18 (Instruction w. Allison 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, skip 3/28, Instruction w. Ryan 4/4, 3/11, 3/18)
This class is designed for the intermediate to advanced thrower interested in expanding the possibilities of their studio practice.  Using the wheel as a tool to create parts, instruction will focus on off-round forms and developing handbuilding skills.  Allison will instruct the first three weeks of class, and Ryan will teach the culminating three weeks. (Moderate/advanced clay skills suggested.)
Fee: $225.

Youth Classes, Spring 2013

Thursdays 4-5:00pm – Youth Wheel (ages 9-12) w/ Jacki Whisenant
3/7 – 4/18 (skip 3/28)
This introduction to the potter’s wheel is designed specifically for children ages 9-12 who are new to the wheel, as well as those with some experience. Kids will learn how to make a simple pot from start to finish, including glazing.  Space is limited, so register today! 608.255.9240
