Open Studio

There are two Adult Open Studio options aside from Membership: Adult Drop-In [$25/3 hours, during business hours], or a Private Lesson [$50/lesson]. With Adult Drop-In, clay and Firing Credit are purchased independently from studio time. Lessons include clay and one finished piece.

Kids’ Open Studio is an opportunity for families to attend on a drop-in basis and children (under 16) are encouraged to experiment and work independently without the constraints of a particular goal. This is a time for children to explore building, banging, cutting, pinching, rolling, etc… with a hunk of clay. Studio staff are available to help get everyone started, make suggestions and problem-solve, though we consider this a non-instructional activity. Pottery wheels are generally not available during Kid’s Open Studio, though exceptions may be made for kids ages 10 and up with prior wheel experience at Midwest Clay Project. One-hour Kids Lessons are available for $30. Kids’ Open Studio is best suited to children 4-15 years of age.
